About Acted By

One year ago, Acted By online/print magazine was created as an expansion of Directed By print magazine. Following the same high standards and moral code of ethics, Acted By embraced the  artistically talented filmmakers on all levels. We are fellow artists who celebrate our industry and all the miraculous moments you don’t often hear about it today’s media coverage.  Centered around big dreams, the stories from artists who have triumphed despite all the odds against them, and the creative process in making films, Acted By was launched.

From Directed By’s Managing Editor to Acted By’s publisher, Megan Rellahan went for it. With high hopes and impulsively driven plans as to how it would probably go, she made every mistake imaginable. Hitting walls, learning slowly, goals shifting, experiencing a few losses from ties meant to be broken…the experience was unforgettably enlightening. Set out to do one thing, Acted By went in a completely different direction. Along the way,  writer/actors/scholars, Paul Nyhart and Rebekah Voss came on board and together, the three artistic entrepreneurs instantly meshed into a team that fit perfectly.

Sharing the exact same vision, we are enthusiastically taking Acted By magazine to brand new territory. As times are drastically changing, an end to the old ways of doing things is here. Riding the next wave in publishing, we are proud to introduce Acted By as one of the first to evolve with the times by transitioning into one of the first Hollywood video magazines.
